Welcome to my new Beauty 2.1 feature here on Fringe and Doll.
For many years I wasn’t really interested in beauty and make up itself quite as much as I am now. Since I’m getting a little older, skin care becomes quite necessary and I’ve become very interested in trying out different products. I’m aware there are billions of bloggers and experts who talk about the same stuff but I hope I can give you a little bit of a different angle to it all. I can’t call myself a beauty expert, yet I have had a variety of different cosmetic brand training throughout my career, so I hope this will give me a little bit of an advantage. However everything I say is purely my opinion and it’s your choice to follow my advice!
I started to look into beauty and skincare when my skin turned into the breakout zone (a very big thank you goes to my hormones!) It all started just about the time I turned 25, I was lucky enough as I had hardly any pimples throughout my teenage years but just in my mid 20s I found out I had hormone condition and everything went downhill from there for couple years! It wasn’t a pleasant experience! My skin was mainly bad around my jaw lines and I also developed this tendency to squeeze anything I could which of course gave me few scaring problems. A few years back I started to pay attention and look into my skin regime and products that I use which could help to get my skin under control but not just that! I am after products that will help to soothe my skin and mainly help with the prevention of unwanted ageing which you can also expect to see on Fringe and Doll.
I won’t lie I struggled for a couple years to get my skin back to normal, I had no idea what to do! People kept commenting and asking what happened to my skin and because of that I started to wear heavy make up to cover my imperfections. The lack of sunshine doesn’t help our skin which tends to look dull and tired here in the UK so I thought that had something to do with it too!
What I’ve learnt and realised is (I hope you all know this too) how important it is to really look after your skin, whether you have breakouts, have sensitive, combination or normal skin type. I can’t express how important it is to know the basics! We can all remember the time you decided to ignore the precious advice and remove your make up and cleanse our skin before we go to bed? We’ve all been there! Just remember, it’s not too late to start! Don’t wait any longer, the earlier the better.
I am also very lucky to have a team of beauty professionals and skincare pros I can turn to for help, as I currently manage an independent designer store with a beauty salon as its hidden gem. The beauty salon also includes a relaxing Zen room, where I manage to escape once in a while! Lucky me!
So what can you expect? I’ll be breaking it down over a variety of posts, based around what we should all know and some secrets which none of us knew before! I will feature products I use and the brands I love! I have also received some new products to try as an influencer but I will always state when products are gifted or posts are sponsored. I truly want to make sure this will educate anybody who is seeking help or is after a new product.
So please join me on this journey, comment, send me your emails with questions of your own experience and ideas! I would really love to hear from you.
With Love,
Radana.xx
